Historic brewery’s arrival marks major milestone for Michigan’s beer scene
YPSILANTI, Mich. — O&W Inc., one of Michigan's premier beer distributors, is thrilled to announce the launch of America’s Oldest Brewery, Yuengling, in the Great Lakes State.
Beginning Monday, Aug. 11, beer enthusiasts across Michigan will have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of Yuengling's celebrated draft beers. Yuengling is currently in its sixth generation of family ownership, while O&W Inc. proudly operates as a fifth-generation family-owned and operated beer business.
As one of only three distributors in Michigan to bring Yuengling to local markets, O&W Inc. is proud to introduce these iconic brews to a new audience. Yuengling, established in 1829, has a rich heritage of brewing excellence, and its arrival in Michigan marks a significant milestone for both the brewery and local beer lovers.
“We are excited to partner with Yuengling and bring their authentic American beers to Michigan,” said Jamie Wanty-Keeder, vice president of marketing at O&W Inc. “This launch is the most exciting beer launch in Michigan history! What a fantastic opportunity for us to expand our offerings and introduce our customers to a brewery with such a storied history, one that beer lovers have been waiting for.”
Yuengling’s diverse lineup includes its flagship Yuengling Lager, the smooth Yuengling Black & Tan, and the refreshing Yuengling Flight, the next generation of light beer clocking in at 4.2% ABV, 95 calories and 2.6 carbs. These selections are perfect for any occasion, whether it’s a casual gathering or a celebration with friends.
Initially, the launch will be limited to the full coverage areas of three appointed distributors, including Ann Arbor, East Lansing and Detroit. This strategic focus allows fans to enjoy Yuengling while supporting their favorite teams until coverage expands to the rest of the state. While selections may not be available inside the stadiums, local retailers surrounding these venues will have the opportunity to offer Yuengling.
We encourage all beer lovers to ask their local bars and restaurants when they will start carrying Yuengling and if they will be participating in any launch party activities starting Monday, Aug. 11. Packaged beer is scheduled to be released in September.
