Chlorophyll Water Names Mark Ellis Vice President of Sales

The first bottled water in the U.S. to pass Clean Label Project Certification strengthens leadership amid surging category growth


New York, NY — Chlorophyll Water, the first-ever bottled water in the United States to pass Clean Label Project Certification (third party tested for 90+ contaminants including pesticides and plasticizers), today announced the appointment of Mark Ellis as Vice President of Sales.


Ellis brings more than 30 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry. Trained at The Coca-Cola Company, he most recently served as Director of National Sales at Once Upon a Coconut. Over his career, Ellis has helped scale disruptive beverage brands including Glaceau Vitaminwater, Bai, and Boxed Water — transforming emerging brands into nationally recognized leaders.


Chlorophyll Water, an introduction to the many benefits of chlorophyll (derived from alfalfa) and fortified with plant-based Vitamins A, B12, C, and D is currently sold nationwide in leading retailers including Erewhon, Meijer, Wegmans, Mother's Market, Earth Fare, Pavilions, Whole Foods Market, and GIANT, as well as grab-and-go concepts such as Pura Vida, 3 Natives, and Pure Green. The brand was recently named a California Grocers Association "Emerging Brand of the Year" finalist and is a recipient of Walmart's coveted Golden Ticket recognition, set to launch in Walmart in April, further reinforcing its rapid retail momentum.

Chlorophyll Water also reports a $1,455 customer lifetime value on Amazon, significantly outperforming the approximately $80 category average — underscoring strong repeat purchase behavior and brand loyalty (with a 70% returning customer rate on their website).


With demand accelerating online and velocity surging in-store, Ellis will focus on expanding Chlorophyll Water's national retail presence, strengthening distributor partnerships and driving velocity across grocery, natural, and specialty channels.


Chlorophyll Water is packaged in 100% recycled 16.9oz and 1-liter rPET bottles using CleanFlake® label technology to support circular recycling. The company is also set to debut 16oz aluminum cans later this year.


In addition, Chlorophyll Water is Plastic Neutral through their partnership with rePurpose Global—funding the recovery of ocean-bound plastic equivalent to every bottle sold.
