PORTLAND, Ore. (August 11, 2026) – Rockstar Energy Open returns to Portland’s Waterfront Park August 14–16 with 40 national, regional, local and nonprofit partners backing three days of world-class skateboarding, two nights of live music and community-driven experiences. The free festival brings competition, culture and music together in the heart of downtown Portland, with new partner activations, limited-edition merchandise, local food, live art and expanded community programming throughout the weekend.

Rockstar Energy Open welcomes new national partners Dickies, 10 Barrel Brewing Co., Etnies and Remind Insoles. Regional and local brands making their Rockstar Energy Open debuts include CCS Skate Shop, Cobra Dogs, Mohr Customs, Wally’s Pepper Sauce, Como La Flor Tattoo and Portal Dimension. These companies will be joining a strong roster of returning partners, including title sponsor Rockstar Energy, content partner Platfrm, national partners Fred Meyer, Cordaroys and SPY+ OPTIC, and regional collaborators Plaid Pantry, Travel Portland, Sports Oregon, Prosper Portland and the City of Portland.

“From established skate shops and local businesses to global brands and community organizations, every partner plays an important role in creating an unforgettable experience that welcomes fans, supports athletes and celebrates the culture of skateboarding,” said Christian Thomas, Director of Partnerships, Platfrm. “Together, we’re continuing to grow the Rockstar Energy Open as a gathering place where the entire community can unite.”

“The Rockstar Energy Open is built around the people pushing skate culture forward,” said Steve Mateus, Senior Director of Sports and Music at Rockstar Energy. “From local skate shops and community organizations to the brands showing up for athletes and fans, every partner adds something real to the weekend.”

The expanded partner roster reflects what the Rockstar Energy Open is built to do: bring athletes, fans, local skate shops, artists and community organizations together while creating more ways for people to experience skateboarding. From legacy skate shops like CCS, Cal Skate, and Rip’s Co, to global lifestyle brands, the Rockstar Energy Open continues to champion the future of inclusive skate culture.

Exposure Skate and Super Skate Posse will kick off the weekend with an exclusive community experience on Friday morning in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters Northwest and P:EAR. The community experience supports underrepresented communities and invites local guests to access the event before it opens to the public, giving first-time skaters access to athlete practices and complimentary skate gear. (Note: Pre-registration is required for participation through Big Brothers Big Sisters Northwest and P:EAR).

The festival village will open to the public on Friday, August 14 at 11 a.m., and will conclude on Sunday, August 16 following the last skateboard competition finals at 5 p.m. Festival hours and competition schedules are subject to change. For the full schedule, visit rockstarenergyopen.com.

The 2026 Rockstar Energy Open sponsorship activations in Portland include:

  • Rockstar Energy is returning to Portland as the event’s title sponsor, taking over The Moxy and Bidwell Hotels downtown while unveiling an even bigger, bolder Rockstar Energy Lounge and Custom Shop at Waterfront Park. The Rockstar Energy onsite footprint will feature premium competition viewing on two jumbo screens, complimentary ice-cold Rockstar Energy and an immersive experience for fans. Any energy drink service will be restricted to guests 18 and older.
  • Dickies, the exclusive durable apparel partner of the Rockstar Energy Open, will be woven throughout the three-day festival with a Dickies merchandise customization activation in partnership with Rockstar Energy, as well as a limited-edition Dickies x Rockstar Energy Open PDX apparel collection available at the Rockstar Energy Open Merch Store. Dickies will also present the Dickies Street Best Trick Cash Jam and Dickies Park Best Trick Cash Jam, two fan-favorite competitions that celebrate skateboarding's creativity, style and progression.
  • Cobra Dogs is leveling up from RSEO food vendor to official partner in 2026, serving its signature hot dogs, offering exclusive merchandise and connecting with fans all weekend in the festival village.
  • Cordaroys, known for their signature bed-inside-the-bean-bag products, will showcase custom Rockstar Energy Open x Cordaroys bean bags around the festival venue.
  • NIXON returns once again, awarding custom NIXON x Rockstar Energy Open watches for winners and NIXON Best Time Awards for the Dickies Best Trick Cash Jams.
  • MERGE4 will offer a selection of their signature socks at their pop-up tent. Exclusive Rockstar Energy Open x Merge4 custom socks will be available for purchase at the Rockstar Energy Open Merch Store.
  • Portland Gear will return, awarding custom Rockstar Energy Open Cascade backpacks to competition winners for a third year.
  • 10 Barrel Brewing Co.’s PUB LIGHT brings its CHEAP FUN to the Rockstar Energy Open. The community-driven DIY area features local shop staples Cal Skate, Rip’s Co, Como La Flor Tattoo, along with mini ramp demos, a music stage with local bands, and live art to further uplift the fan and community experience. Any alcohol service will be restricted to guests 21 and older.

Nonprofit Partners Activations

  • Exposure Skate will return to this year’s event with an engaging booth in the festival village, where fans can learn about its mission to empower women, girls and nonbinary individuals through skateboarding and teaching compassion through service.
  • Super Skate Posse, a local Portland organization, provides complete skateboards, clothing, skate shoes and protective equipment to underserved communities at events hosted by pro skaters across the country. Their mission is to introduce the basics of skateboarding, engage the local community and provide mentorship and encouragement.
  • Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) will return to Portland with their signature Summer Skate Series, a five-mile skate-bike-roll along the Willamette River, in partnership with the Rockstar Energy Open to fundraise for breast cancer education, prevention and survivorship programs. Boarding for Breast Cancer’s Skate The River will take place on Sunday, August 16 from 9 a.m.–11 a.m. Fans can register to participate at the B4BC booth, helping them reach their $25,000 goal with a minimum $25 donation. The more fans can fundraise, the more chances they have to win awesome prizes from key brand partners.
  • Additional nonprofit partners include Dream Big City, Push Movement, Skating Is Connection, Wy’East Mountain Academy and new partner Snow Days.

As part of the action-packed weekend, fans can also enjoy free live concerts featuring breakout emo favorites Hot Mulligan and punk staples PUP on Friday, followed by hardcore band Angel Du$t and alt-rock favorites Basement on Saturday, after each day's skateboarding Park and Street competitions. Local artists will also take over spaces throughout the festival with live installations, while Portland food trucks serve fans all weekend. Visit RockstarEnergyOpen.com for the full event schedule.

The Rockstar Energy Open extends a special thank you to Travel Portland, Sports Oregon and the City of Portland for their continued partnership in bringing the event to Portland for its third year. The event also gratefully acknowledges the support of national partners California Skateparks, Scrim Junkies and Fuller Events.

Rockstar Energy Open is free and open to the public, with VIP upgrade options available for purchase. Every competition will stream globally for free on The Platfrm.
