NAPA, Calif. — Oceano Wines, an innovator in single-vineyard alcohol-removed wine, has closed a new funding round led by Shifting Sands Capital. The investment will enable Oceano to expand production, accelerate brand and market development across retail, hospitality and direct-to-consumer channels, and support continued product innovation.
Oceano entered the round with a differentiated foundation already in place. It is the first brand to release wines made in the U.S. using Solos’ patented aroma-recovery technology, has established a national presence through select retailers, and continues to earn critical and trade recognition for the quality, complexity and vineyard expression of its wines. The amount of the round was not disclosed.
The investment arrives as dealmaking remains highly selective across the beverage category. Beverage M&A activity declined 18.3% in 2025, while private-equity deals in the sector fell 30%, according to Capstone Partners.[i] At the same time, U.S. no-alcohol wine volume grew at a 23 percent compound annual growth rate from 2019 through 2024, according to IWSR, underscoring continued momentum in one of wine’s most dynamic growth segments.
“This investment gives us the leverage to accelerate an expansion already underway and advance multiple priorities across the business at once,” said Oceano Wines founder and CEO Rachel Martin. “We can scale production and market reach while continuing to invest in the quality, innovation and single-vineyard vision that distinguish Oceano.”
Oceano winemaker Rob Fischer, who brings more than 25 years of fine-wine experience, will continue to lead winemaking as production expands. As part of the broader growth plan, Oceano will also diversify its grape supply through new relationships with acclaimed coastal sites, including Walala Vineyard and Fogstone Vineyard, in addition to sourcing in place with Gap’s Crown Vineyard.
Shifting Sands Capital is a wellness-focused investment portfolio backing founder-led businesses that help people live healthier and more fulfilling lives. “I was drawn to Oceano because of the quality and authenticity of its alcohol-removed wines, Rachel’s experience and vision, and the opportunity to build a genuinely premium wine brand for consumers who want the experience and ritual of wine without the alcohol,” said Jonathon Penn of Shifting Sands Capital.
Martin will join leading producers, sommeliers and category builders at the Drinks With Benefits Summit in New York on September 16, 2026, for a conversation on the quality standards, innovation and terroir-driven expressions shaping fine alcohol-free wine. Media and trade interested in Martin’s perspective on establishing new benchmarks for NoLo wines may request a tasting or interview with her in New York through studiosoif.com.
