MANALI, HIMACHAL PRADESH, INDIA – September 2026 – Himvana is exploring the intersection of floral botanicals and Himalayan nettle as consumers continue to discover a wider range of herbal tea and caffeine-free beverage options.

The approach brings together the earthy character of Himalayan nettle with flower-based ingredients that can introduce different aromas, colors and flavor profiles to the traditional herbal infusion category.

At the center of the concept is Urtica himalayensis, a nettle species associated with Himalayan environments. The dried leaves can be prepared as a herbal infusion and, when used without conventional tea leaves, are naturally caffeine-free.

Flower ingredients provide a contrasting sensory experience. Butterfly pea flower, hibiscus and chamomile, for example, are already familiar to many consumers exploring herbal beverages, while their different colors and flavor characteristics create opportunities for varied infusion combinations.

Rather than positioning herbal tea around a single ingredient, Himvana's approach is focused on how botanicals can complement one another.

Combining Floral Notes With Himalayan Botanicals

Flower-based infusions have become an increasingly recognizable part of the modern beverage landscape. Butterfly pea flower is known for producing a naturally blue-colored infusion, while hibiscus contributes a naturally vibrant color and tart flavor. Chamomile brings a delicate floral character.

Himalayan nettle offers a different profile, with an earthy and vegetal character.

Bringing these ingredients together creates an opportunity to introduce consumers to Himalayan botanicals through more approachable flavor combinations.

For consumers who are unfamiliar with nettle leaf, floral ingredients can provide a recognizable entry point while retaining the identity of the Himalayan botanical.

"Herbal beverages give consumers an opportunity to explore ingredients beyond conventional tea leaves," said a Himvana spokesperson. "We are interested in how flowers, fruits, spices and Himalayan botanicals can work together while allowing each ingredient to retain its own character."

A Broader Definition of Tea

The growing variety of herbal beverages also highlights an important distinction between conventional tea and herbal infusions.

Black, green, white and oolong teas are produced from Camellia sinensis. Herbal infusions, by contrast, can be prepared from a wide range of flowers, leaves, roots, fruits and spices.

This distinction is particularly relevant for consumers seeking caffeine-free beverage choices.

A cup made from Himalayan nettle, butterfly pea flower or chamomile does not have to imitate conventional tea. Instead, each botanical can offer its own flavor, aroma and visual characteristics.

The category therefore provides room for both traditional preparation and contemporary experimentation.

From Himalayan Nettle to Floral Blends

Himvana's focus on Urtica himalayensis reflects an interest in bringing lesser-known Himalayan botanicals into modern beverage formats.

The company emphasizes the botanical identity and regional connection of Himalayan nettle while exploring combinations that may appeal to consumers already familiar with floral herbal beverages.

The concept also reflects a broader interest in ingredient transparency. Himvana encourages consumers to distinguish between traditional botanical use and scientific evidence, particularly when different species within the same plant family have been studied separately.

Research concerning nettles has often involved species such as Urtica dioica, commonly known as stinging nettle, rather than Urtica himalayensis. The company therefore aims to provide clear information about the specific botanical used in its products.

Exploring New Herbal Beverage Occasions

Floral and botanical infusions can be enjoyed in several formats, from a simple hot cup to chilled preparations and creative non-alcoholic beverages.

Blue flower infusions, for example, can create visually distinctive drinks, while nettle-based infusions offer a more earthy alternative. Combining botanical ingredients gives beverage makers additional opportunities to develop flavor profiles without relying on conventional tea leaves.

For Himvana, the objective is not to replace established tea traditions but to broaden the ways consumers can discover Himalayan ingredients.

As interest in botanical beverages continues to develop, combinations involving flowers, herbs and regional plants may provide new ways for consumers to explore the category.

About Himvana

Himvana is a Himalayan herbal tea brand focused on lesser-known Himalayan botanicals and herbal infusions. Its range includes Himalayan nettle leaf tea and blends featuring Urtica himalayensis with flowers, fruits and spices.
