LINCOLN, NE, July 17, 2025 — Empyrean Brewing Co.® has officially launched a complete redesign of the packaging for its year-round Core Legends lineup. The updated label artwork has already begun appearing on store shelves this summer, with full rollout expected across all markets by early fall.
While the beer formulas inside remain unchanged, the updated designs bring a new visual approach to the familiar lineup. The project focused on preserving the recognizable elements customers have enjoyed from the beginning, while reimagining the artwork to better reflect Empyrean’s brand story and journey to Pursue the Brew®.
Founded in 1990, Empyrean Brewing Co.® has always been rooted in exploration. Its name comes from ancient beliefs that paradise existed in the farthest reaches of the universe, within a fiery sphere called “The Empyrean.” Cosmically tied to the idea of the ultimate pursuit or destination. Over the years, Empyrean has built its identity around that pursuit—of better beer, of discovery, of the spaces (both literal and figurative) that good beer can take people.
This latest redesign continues that vision. Some label designs are inspired by real places (like Burning Skye’s feature of Scotland’s Old Man of Storr), while others reflect the feeling of the pour itself (Welcome to Earth via Third Stone Brown Ale). Each aims to visually carry drinkers into a moment, of where each beer can take you.
“We take a lot of pride in crafting the contents of our cans, and just as much pride in crafting the stories behind the brands.” said Jim Engelbart, Operations Manager at Empyrean Brewing Co.® “Some of these brands are older than the people enjoying them, so it’s important to keep the packaging updated with fresh visuals. We’ve had a blast revisiting the stories behind the beers and using them to recreate our classics with a modern look.”
From a retail perspective, the new look provides a unified shelf presence while still allowing each Core Legend its own personality.
