Damery, France (July 2025) – With the E1 championship battle set to go all the way to the season finale in Miami in November, Champagne Telmont will be there to celebrate a ‘Telmont moment’ to crown the 2025 Champions of the Water as the Official Champagne Supplier to the world’s first and only all-electric raceboat championship.
November will mark Miami’s debut on E1’s calendar that already visits iconic locations including Jeddah, Doha, Dubrovnik and Lagos.
Both E1 and Telmont share a vision to push the limits of innovation while reducing the impact on the planet's resources.
E1 redefines racing on water, with teams competing in E1 RaceBirds that ‘fly’ over the water when they hit foiling speeds. By combining innovative marine technology, thrilling performance, and greater respect for marine ecosystems, E1 unites diverse teams of male and female pilots from all over the world.
Telmont’s vision to become an exemplary champagne house in its commitment to sustainability echoes E1’s environmental ethos. The Champagne house, part of renowned French spirits group Rémy Cointreau, has pledged to move towards 100 percent regenerative and organic viticulture and aims to reduce its carbon footprint as much as possible, to be net-positive by 2050.
As the Official Champagne supplier of E1, Champagne Telmont will treat fans in Miami to a special Champagne Telmont “track-side” moment, while podium winners will again use the champagne for their celebrations.
Rodi Basso, founder and Chief Executive Officer of E1, said: “Our successful partnership with Maison Telmont will see them help celebrate our 2025 Champions of the Water in Miami in November, our first round to be held in North America.
“We both share a real passion and commitment to innovation, sustainability and excellence at the core of what we do which makes Maison Telmont a perfect partner for E1.”
"At Telmont, we believe that innovation and respect for nature must go hand in hand. We also believe that it is everyone’s responsibility to push boundaries and redefine standards” says Ludovic du Plessis, President of Telmont. “E1 is completely reinventing the standard for motorised water sports. It’s a
unique blend of motorsport, emotion, and sustainability and we are immensely proud to continue as their partner.”

About Maison Telmont
Champagne Telmont was founded in 1912 in Damery, France, near Épernay, in the wake of the Champagne riots, by Henri Lhôpital. For over a century, the House has been a pioneer in the Champagne industry. Equally committed to innovation and the preservation of Champagne's traditions of excellence, Telmont is now at the forefront of a new revolution in our relationship with our planet. It implements a unique vision: to produce exceptional Champagne without any compromise on sustainability. This vision, materialized since 2021 with the project "In the Name of Mother Nature", includes converting 100% of the estate’s and partner winegrowers' vineyards to organic and regenerative agriculture (today, 70% of all vines are already certified organic), preserving biodiversity, and drastically reducing carbon emissions to aim to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
Past initiatives already implemented* include the elimination of gift boxes and unnecessary packaging, the co-development with our historic glassmaking partner of the world’s lightest Champagne bottle (800g), the discontinuation of transparent glass (including 0% of recycled glass) and bespoke bottles (900g +), the use of transition glass produced between two hues, the complete stop of air freight, and the use of renewable energy.
Standing with Telmont are four investors who share the same environmental vision and convictions: Bertrand Lhôpital, grapefather and cellar master, great-grandson of founder Henri, who initiated the organic conversion as early as 1999, and today perpetuates his forefathers’ legacy and traditions; Ludovic du Plessis, President of Maison Telmont; Rémy Cointreau, majority shareholder of Telmont, which fully endorses the House’s commitment to sustainability and innovation; and Leonardo DiCaprio, investor and committed environmentalist.
The wines of the House are distinguished by an airy and structured style, balancing tension and freshness, with subtle, balanced acidity that ensures an impressive long finish. Each has a unique presence marked by a paradox: structured body and remarkable lightness.
In 2024, Maison Telmont unveiled its manifesto-cuvée, “Réserve de la Terre”, crafted from 100% organic grapes, without herbicides, pesticides, fungicides and chemical synthetic fertilizers. Radiant, luminous, and full of life, this cuvée represents the future of Maison Telmont.
