Fort Worth’s La Pulga Tequila Introduces 2025 Limited-Edition Horned Frogs Bottle

FORT WORTH – Just in time for college football season, La Pulga Tequila, founded locally by three Fort Worth entrepreneurs, has introduced a new 2025 edition Horned Frogs-themed bottle celebrating the brand’s “Official Tequila of the Horned Frogs” partnership with TCU Athletics. A portion of proceeds from the sale of each Horned Frogs bottle will benefit Assist the Officer, a local non-profit organization benefitting the Fort Worth Police Department, and supported by La Pulga Spirits and TCU Athletics.

The limited-edition Horned Frogs bottle of award-winning La Pulga Blanco Tequila features a distinctive black label, in tribute to the Horned Frogs popular blackout game uniform. In keeping with La Pulga’s style, it is adorned by an “alebrije” Mexican folk-art image celebrated for the powers they possess. For the Horned Frogs special edition, naturally the TCU Athletics Horned Frog (outlined in Horned Frogs purple and complete with striking blood red eyes) adorns the label, symbolizing strength, luck, and goodwill. The new 2025 limited-edition bottle also features, for the first time in La Pulga’s history, a non-metallic medallion, this time in black to match the bottle label, sure to become a collector’s item. Starting in late August the bottle will be available at select spirits retailers across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex while quantities last.

“Last year’s Horned Frogs bottle sold out within days – and at some stores within hours – as many Horned Frogs fans purchased two bottles, one to drink and one to collect! So, back by popular demand, we’re thrilled to introduce the 2025 Horned Frogs edition La Pulga bottle,” says Andrew De La Torre, one of La Pulga’s founders and a proud TCU alum. “Horned Frogs football is the pride of our hometown of Fort Worth, especially the drama, excitement, and fun that fans experience during ‘blackout’ home games where the entire stadium dresses in black – including the players on the field. That spirited tradition was the inspiration for the eye-catching label on this year’s commemorative Horned Frogs La Pulga bottle.”

La Pulga’s sponsorship of TCU Athletics also includes a presence in the clubs and suites of Amon G. Carter Stadium during football season, and the Stuart Family Courtside Club at Schollmaier Arena for basketball games.

La Pulga Tequila is an artisanal, 100% Blue Weber Agave tequila with zero additives that takes its name from the “Pulga” outdoor market on University Drive that serves as a gateway to the Northside of Fort Worth, one of the oldest open-air flea markets in the U.S. The brand was founded by De La Torre, a club owner and the operator of the Pulga market; Sarah Castillo, a well-known and respected Fort Worth restauranteur (Taco Heads, Tinies Mexican Cuisine, Sidesaddle Saloon); and Stephen Slaughter, a local entrepreneur.

La Pulga Tequilas (Blanco, 110 High Proof Blanco, Reposado, 110 High Proof Reposado, and Añejo) and La Pulga Mezcal and La Pulga Sotol are available through Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) at bars, restaurants, and fine spirits retailers throughout Texas. La Pulga also recently expanded distribution into several additional major U.S. markets. Each La Pulga varietal is packaged in an eye-catching and easy-to-pour bottle, sealed with a premium cork stopper and adorned with a keepsake medallion.
